A SERIES OF CLASSES FOR REACTIVE DOGS
When you share your life with a dog with big feelings, the types of activities you might be able to do with them can seem really small.
Fearless Tails was born from the idea that these dogs deserve to have a place...with a little more space, where they can learn new skills and do fun classes too.
Our approach to reactivity is focused on your dog's emotions and stress as the driving factor in their outbursts.
We do not label these dogs as dramatic, or dominant - rather we seek to understand how to help them feel better.
Techniques used are pattern games, counter conditioning,
gentle desensitization and reward based methods.
Classes are led by a certified trainer, using only positive reinforcement methods. We do not use discomfort, force, fear, or intimidation, nor do we use aversive tools.
Our classes are organized to ensure a positive environment for all participants, your dog's welfare is our priority.
A group orientation session is a requirement and included in each class series, attendance is mandatory for first time participants.
Prior training with Fearless Tails OR an assessment is a pre-requisite for participation in this class. We reserve the right to request private behaviour modification training or Roaring to Relaxed be completed prior to
participating in any of the group classes.
The goal of each of these classes is to provide education, instruction and practice on specific skill areas, they are not intended to allow dog-dog interaction. Visual and physical barriers are used extensively in class.
These programs are not for dogs with a bite history with dogs or people, or for dogs who have a legal muzzle order due to bite history. Please contact us for private sessions.
These classes are 50 minutes long, limited to 2-3 dogs at a time.
In Person Classes Are Located in Bloomfield, Prince Edward County
Adolescent dogs aged 6 months - 2 years frequently develop big, loud, barky, lungey feelings, and it can be a shock; this isn't the sweet puppy you knew!
Don't mistake this for a phase; behaviours that surface at this age don't always disappear, in fact, they often get worse as your dog enters adulthood.
This class focuses on helping you, the human, better understand what's happening with your dog, and gives you both the skills to help them keep calm, and move along! There will be critical information tutorials for you the human, to complete each week, in addition to practice homework.
Skills include looking not lunging; relaxation & settle behaviours, foundation behaviours such as targeting, and pattern games that can be used to improve focus, walking past triggers and engagement.

If you share your life with a reactive dog, you know that this behaviour is just a small part of their personality. Your dog is also goofy, silly, fun, sensitive and affectionate. At the same time, managing their outbursts can be very stressful. You’re here because you want to help your dog be calmer and more relaxed in the world around them.
That’s what this program is all about!
This is an intensive 8 week program during which you can expect to increase your understanding of reactivity and improve your training skills.
Starts twice per month, so there's no need to delay!
You're a Roaring to Relaxed Grad who wants to take the next step in your dog's training journey.
In this series of classes, we will be working on two of the top challenges faced by many reactive dog guardians - the opportunity to practice the skills you've learned in controlled set ups and loose leash walking.
As with Roaring to Relaxed, the comfort of your dog will set your pace in this class. While we have two class slots, if your dog is exceedingly loud, excited or anxious, and fearful, Tasha may request that you move to a different time slot so that your dog, and other participating dogs have the best learning experience possible.
Expect to practice what you learned in Roaring to Relaxed or Behaviour Modification in these classes, in addition to learning new techniques. We will also incorporate some fun elements to help your dogs decompress in each class.
Homework practice will be assigned each week, with video feedback and text support as usual. This class can be taken as many times as you wish to continue practicing with your dog as the variables will change each time.
4 weeks - $213 + HST. The first class is a humans only prep session, attendance is required to proceed with the group training class.

Taking care of your dog’s health, hygiene, and care can be a struggle,
but it doesn’t have to be.
If your dog has a hard time with routine care such as nail trims, receiving medication, or visiting the vet or groomers, you’re not alone.
Dogs experiencing such fear often resist, struggle, growl, and even bite.
Labeled as “difficult” or “high maintenance”, necessary care often gets put off or struggled through, leaving dog guardians feeling frustrated,
guilty, and hopeless.
Fortunately, we can help our dogs feel better about these experiences and become willing participants, leading to less stress for you and your dog.
This is a hybrid program with virtual and in person components so that your dog can build success where they feel most comfortable.
COMING SOON
When the weather gets hot, more dogs are out walking in the early hours - leaving not a lot of wiggle room for dogs that need a little more space to have a good time on a walk.
Well, we think reactive dogs deserve to have fun too!
So come warmer weather, we'll be opening up our space so that your big feeling dog can get a good workout, train and have fun all at the same time.
Each class will have 3 - 4 activities for you and your dog to work on, from tricks, rally obedience, physical conditioning and brain games.
